Execute Order 66. One of the most famous commands in cinema history, and for our character, the words that changed everything. For the first time in a very long time, we got a single player star wars story that did contribute to the overall canon. The Jedi order is no more and the young padawan must survive.
Jedi Fallen Order follows Cal Kestis, a former jedi padawan who managed to escape the massacre of Order 66. Cal now hides out on a planet called Bracca. Working as a scrapper, Cal tries to forget the past and move on with his new life. But when an incident occurs and Cal’s best friend nearly dies, he is forced into using his old force abilities to save them. Realising that he had now drawn attention to himself, Cal prepares to leave Bracca but not before the Inquisitors come looking.
I really like playing this game, I’ve beaten it about 7 times. My favourite part of every playthrough is the lightsaber customisation. In Fallen Order you can change almost everything about Cal’s lightsaber. From the colour of the blade to the material it’s constructed out of, there are a lot of options so anyone playing can make their own personal design.
I do have some complaints though, most of which have been fixed. First of all the glitches. There were so many glitches in this game at one point I called it garbage. You would randomly fall through the floor or the force abilities wouldn’t work, and the worst one combat was broken. When most of your game consists of precise combat, you really need it to work. Thankfully most of these have been fixed or aren’t as problematic anymore, but my biggest complaint will always remain.
Jedi Fallen Order was way too short. As I’ve said, I really like playing this game, but on every playthrough it just feels short. Something happens three quarters of the way through the story and you have to go construct a new lightsaber. This is my favourite part of the game but to me it always feels like the game is only just getting started. If it were up to me, I would’ve had it happen closer to the start or middle of the game. Just the way the dialogue is and everything, it makes more sense to happen early.
Complaints aside, Jedi Fallen Order is a great addition to the Star Wars universe and really does make you feel like a Jedi.
