Kia ora, how’s it going?

I go by Apollo and this is A Blind Perspective (ABP).

ABP is a platform where I share my opinions and reviews about various forms of entertainment from the point of view of a blind person.

I began to lose my vision in 2014 due to a series of medical adventures and now in 2022 I have a visual acuity of only 1 over 60. For those who don’t know what that means, visual acuity is measured in metres. So what a person with full vision can see at 60 metres, I can see at 1 metre and even then it’s not very clear for me.

This hasn’t stopped me from enjoying everything the entertainment industry has to offer. I do often miss visual details but I find it doesn’t affect my levels of fun in any way. I spend most of my time playing games but I’ll drop everything for the new Marvel Studios project and I always check out the current thing everyone is buzzing about, whatever it may be.

Come with me and take a glimpse into how the visually challenged tackle games and other things that were made first and foremost for the visual world.
